Analytical Chemist(s)


We are looking for two (2) entry-level or intermediate analytical chemists to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree + 1 year of related work experience, and a positive, collaborative demeanor. The analytical chemist will be responsible for performing routine testing and analyses in a timely manner, while maintaining exceptional laboratory practices in a results-oriented environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine testing and analysis with GC-MS, ICP-MS, HPLC-MS
  • Develop and validate analytical methods
  • Prepare samples for analysis and calibrate standards
  • Handle, separate, and dispose of hazardous chemical waste
  • Optimize schedules and ensure timely completion of various assays
  • Aid in development / optimization of existing and new SOPs
  • Maintain exceptional laboratory practices as required for a GMP-certified facility
  • Maintain records and results of analytical activities using LIMS
  • Provide input and participate in projects within research and development
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
  • Provide input and support to ongoing research projects and product development

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science or higher, preferably in chemistry, plus at least 1 year work experience in related field
  • Experience with analytical chemistry techniques such as HPLC, GC, MS, UV, LC-MS etc. will be considered an asset
  • Previous experience with Chromeleon and LIMS software are highly desired
  • Knowledge of synthetic chemistry will be considered an asset
  • Experience with troubleshooting of instrumentation and analytical activities
  • Experience operating at a GLP/GMP-level environment
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft suite)
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada, sponsorship for work visa is currently unavailable

COMPENSATION

The hiring range for this position is $60,000-$70,000 and commensurate with education and experience.
